Magnitude TCPIP Stack 11.1 

The Magnitude TCP/IP Stack must be installed on the Embedded PC (EPC) to load the network interface card drivers and enable remote configuration and monitoring of your Magnitude.

Prerequisites

The following software and hardware is required to install and operate the TCP/IP Stack.

• Magnitude MMC version 8.12 or greater
• Ethernet connectivity

Installation

Create a floppy disk of the TCP/IP Software

There are two options to creating a floppy disk:

1. Download the disk creator file and run the program that will create a floppy disk
2. Download the zip file, unzip the file, and copy the files directly to a blank floppy

After creating the floppy, perform the following:

1. Open the front door of the Magnitude
2. If present, use a screwdriver to remove the black panel covering the EPC (Embedded PC) on the lower left-hand side of the Magnitude
3. Insert the TCP/IP software installation disk into the EPC floppy drive
4. At the Main Magnitude console screen, exit the MMC by pressing Alt-Q
5. Select No, going to DOS and returning (default) and press Enter
6. The firmware installation software will run automatically.  If it does not, then type XIORUNME and press Enter
7. The installation routine will prompt for IP Address and Subnet Mask
8. Wait for the software installation to complete
9. Remove the TCP/IP software installation disk from the EPC floppy drive
10. Press Ctrl-Alt-Del to reboot the EPC (this does not affect the operation of the Magnitude - this just reboots the EPC)
11. When prompted Firmware already running, select Skip Reboot (default option) and press Enter
12. When returned to the Main Magnitude console screen, exit the MMC by pressing Alt-Q
13. Select No, going to DOS and returning (default) and press Enter
14. Press Ctrl-C when the screen says XIO will reboot in 30 seconds
15. Choose Yes to terminate the batch job
16. Change to the C:\PCTCP directory (cd \PCTCP and press Enter)
17. Type Config and press Enter
18. Choose Internet Addresses and press Enter and add in the gateway addresses necessary
19. Save the settings and exit by choosing Alt-F-S to save, then Alt-F-X to exit
20. Press Ctrl-Alt-Del to reboot the EPC (this does not affect the operation of the Magnitude - this just reboots the EPC)
21. When prompted Firmware already running, select Skip Reboot (default option) and press Enter

When returned to the Main MMC screen, the installation is complete
